2. Gift Aid

Have you considered a donation to the club?
Giftaid - tax efficient one-off or regular donations

Olney RFC is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). As an amateur club we do not and cannot pay players. We do, however, gain substantial financial and tax advantages as a not-for-profit sports club. One potential significant benefit is being able to take advantage of Gift Aid.

Gift Aid
When you give to a CASC, the club can claim the basic-rate tax on the donation. This adds 25p for every £1 given.

For example:
A £100 donation is treated as £125 gross. The club, as a CASC, claims £25 from HMRC, so the club receives £125 while you pay £100.

Higher or Additional Rate taxpayers can claim back the difference via self-assessment or calling HMRC.
Gift Aid applies to both singular one off or regular payments providing you are a UK taxpayer.

An Olney RFC Gift Aid form is included on this page

Making regular donations
You may wish to consider making a regular payment to the club by setting up a Standing Order or through Payroll Giving (via your employer)

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you will no doubt be aware that, charitable donations of this kind will reduce your own tax bill.

For matters that may affect your personal tax position, we recommend that you seek independent financial advice.
