Olney Ladies continued their good form with a resounding win against a plucky, but ultimately outclassed Old Newtonians side. Number 10 Jen Miles controlled the game, helping herself to 2 tries, although for once she left her kicking boots at home converting only 3 of the 14 tries scored.
Olney led 42 nil at half time, their pace and power too much for their opponents, who despite the score line never gave up and were able to exert pressure at the scrum. However with plenty of possession the Olney back row of Jen Micklewright, Lianne O’Reilly and Charlotte Brown were able to enjoy themselves in the wide open spaces and with their pack dominant in the loose there were plenty of scoring opportunities for the backs.
After a slow start to the 2nd half Olney eventually slipped into gear and more tries soon followed. The final score of 76 – 0 was testament to good handling skills which saw scores for all the back line, with full back Charlotte Armitage scoring 3, and a brace each for Steph Lynes, Aisha Thornton (pictured scoring) and the aforementioned Miles.
