Yesterday, I attended the game and stood behind the far deadball line for the entire match. The first half came and went and inevitably the first try of the following half came rolling in from Scouts. I had a choice…I could walk away or stand my ground and face the Olney players as they gathered to receive the conversion attempt. In the end I stood and took a good look at their faces. They were not ones of complacency or a lack of interest; they just had that look when you know that anything you try will almost certainly not come off. Scouts were on fire yesterday and sometimes that’s just the way it is. I also remembered too that I had played in a 1st team game where the score deficit was even worse, so I speak from experience.
No match report today... we go again
However, I have to say it was a little embarrassing to watch some of the former players retire early back to the bar. The players need your support. - You don’t have to cheer or clap … just be there for them.
