This week’s guest reporter: Dan Gleebitz

Olney made the short trip to high flying Scouts for a Friday night fixture. Not always popular with our players or supporters but the Northampton side seem to prefer many of their home matches played under lights. This report will be as accurate as possible and brief due to the fact that the reporter didn’t actually attend the game so relied on second hand information. We should also mention that after a particularly lively bus trip home a couple of weeks ago we found out that one of our players apparently practices Adamitism. (Look it up)

With a strong side as usual, Scouts looked a formidable side from the outset but it was the Olney boys who had the better of the early exchanges and pressure told when forcing a penalty to get the first points on the board. First try came from Scouts though when their young winger was allowed enough space to round the defence. Further scores followed and despite some spirited attacks and another penalty, Olney were on the receiving end of three more tries to give Scouts a bonus point and a 24-6 lead at the break.

The second half continued in much the same manner with the Scouts winger adding to his tally with 2 more tries over the 40 minutes. By their own report, Scouts recognised Olney as tougher opponents than the score suggests and despite some fine defending just couldn’t find their way over the try line in attack. Eventually Olney pressured Scouts into infringing once too often for the referee to award a penalty try late in the game. Final score of 43-13. Overall a result we could have done without but Scouts are always a difficult side to beat at their home ground on a Friday night. As mentioned earlier, a brief report but it’s something to let our reader know what went on.

During the hot weather earlier in the year Mrs Harris took to wearing shorter dresses than she would do normally. One day whilst she was bending over the freezer selecting something for the evening’s dinner Mr Harris could resist no longer and gave in to temptation. With his trousers down he rushed up behind her and there followed what can only be described as a rigorous moment of passion. Rumour has it that this didn’t go down too well with the staff in Sainsbury’s and they have been barred for the foreseeable future.
