Roses are red

Roses are red

Olney RFC Publicity13 Sep 2024 - 16:19

...Georgia Brock

After joining the Red Roses training camp earlier in the year, tomorrow sees the first (of many we hope) call-up for Georgia Brock to the Red Roses team, as they take on the Black Ferns; A match that sees the number 1 team in the world take on the current World Champions.

Georgia started playing rugby age 5 at Olney RFC, her home club with family ties back as long as can be remembered. From a very young age Georgia showed her abilities, dominating on the pitch. She was one of the first girls through the Club’s newly formed girls section, going from strength-to-strength including representing both the County and regional teams.

At 16 she went to Hartpury to study for her A-levels and the ace rugby set up, leaving home to live in Halls and she would now call Gloucester her home, though she still comes back to watch her brothers play in Olney and has done some coaching sessions for the M&Js. She played for Hartpury College and university and then onto the ladies team at Gloucester, including playing in the Premiership Women’s Rugby Championship winning side last season...she always aspired to play for England.

Georgia becomes the 3rd Olney lady to play for the Red Roses XVs - joining Lucy Atwood and Helen Hacker.

Roses are red, Olney is Cerise and French Grey!

You can watch the match live tomorrow afternoon in the Club House!
