Sad news that Norton Brock has passed away

We are very saddened to share the news that Norton Brock has passed away at the age of 81. Norton's funeral will be on Monday 25 February, at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Olney, followed by refreshments at the rugby club. Everyone is welcome.

Norton was involved with Olney RFC for decades. Living in the town all of his life, the rugby club was one of his passions and he was proud to see his children and then grandchildren wear the cerise and french grey jersey of his beloved Olney RFC.

Many will remember Norton's involvement with the club in sponsoring the 1st XV for many years, and he was an avid supporter of the team both home and away. He followed the 1st XV's fortunes until just before Christmas last year when his health took a turn for the worse. Even from his hospital bed though, Norton was keeping an eye on things by reading the weekly programme - particularly enjoying the jokes!

Norton was heavily involved with many other aspects of life in Olney, he sponsored a pairs competition at Olney Bowling Club, and he also ran undoubtedly the most picturesque garage on any High Street.

Norton Brock will be very much missed by members of the rugby club and the wider community and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
