National Colts Cup Semi-Final

Olney RFC Publicity30 Mar - 06:18

...your squad

Today, Sunday 30th March, see Olney RFC Colts head to Shropshire to take on Whitchurch in the National Colts Cup semi-final...here's your squad

1 Henry Walker - Man, mountain and scrummaging machine, not the player you'd want to see coming off the bench if your scrum is tiring. Henry has a fantastic catch-pass for such a big man and can put players around him into the tightest of gaps (Wellingborough School)

2 Ferdi Barnett-Vincent - Won the premiership academy with Northampton Saints this season. Extremely strong carrier of the ball with a skillset of a fly half playing at hooker. (Northampton School for Boys, Northampton Saints Academy)

3 Monty Lee - A monster of a player at 6ft 3 " and 125kgs. Strong in the scrum and carrying the ball a steamroller of a player and dangerous in the open. (Northampton School for Boys, Northampton Saints Academy)

4 Connor Wright - A huge tackler that regularly deckchairs opposition players. Super strong in the lineout and been known to ruin opposition teams rolling mauls. (Stowe School, Northampton Saints Academy)

5 Jack Leach - Player of the match by a mile in the last round of the National Colts Cup, fantastic in the air under any high balls and unrelenting engine. (Bedford Modern School)

6 Charlie Down - Powerful and street-smart player, always a threat at the breakdown or in the open. Charlie has already shown his prowess at full senior level in a winning performance vs a very strong Oadby Wiggstonians RFC. (Samuel Whitbread School, Olney First XV)

7 Ronan Perkins (V-cpt) - Excellent player always leads by example and is also a turnover machine. Ronan is the glue in the Olney back row. (Bedford Modern School, Northampton Saints Academy)

8 Charlie Constantine - Powerfully built carrying machine, likes a big shot and often absolutely flattens players. Great link player with the backs and his open side (Bedford School)

9 Tom Wright - Huge ball of energy that is always a thorn in the side of the opposition scrumhalf, super fast pass of both hands and can also put up an excellent box kick. He might be one of our smaller players but do not be deceived, he has probably got more turnovers this season than the entire back row. (Bedford School, Olney First XV)

10 Beau Stenson - Imperious at fly half for Olney, deadly with the boot and has a killer goose-step, also likes to smash opposition runners. His combination with Max Innes at inside centre is next level (Samuel Whitbread School)

11 Louis Harper - Louis has impressed more than any other Olney player this season, his work rate is unreal, high balls, balls along the ground, try's and tackles he will do them all. He has been so impressive he has also played for the first team recently vs a strong Lutterworth team. (Olney First XV)

12 Max Innes (Cpt) - Another player who won the premiership academy with Northampton Saints this season. Max is an excellent player with skills most people cannot even fathom, a huge leader for us on the pitch and play maker in the back line. (Bedford School, Olney First XV Northampton Saints Academy)

13 Charlie Sales - Powerfully built and super quick player, Charlie can score a try from his own tryline in under 10 seconds, he also has a defensive presence that can rock opposition players to their cores. (Wellingborough School)

14 Justin Fasanya - Huge man that is probably one of the quickest players in the entire Olney setup. Justin is hard to stop when in full flight at 6ft 2" and 98kgs he is a monster to try and stop. Breaks bench press records for fun. (Bedford School, Northampton Saints Academy)

15 Maxton Hubbard - Pound for pound one of the strongest lads in the Olney team, Max's balance when running is unreal, and he has a cannon off both feet. (Samuel Whitbread School, Northampton Saints Academy)

16 Joe German (V-cpt) - Rapier like speed and indefatigable, Joe will never ever be stopped. He has an eye for a try as well as anything that moves - he kills (Bedford Modern School, Olney First XV)

17 Jack Mumberson - Excellent arrows and work rate across the park, Jack is a powerfully built quick player that has the ability to play many positions across the pack. (Northampton School for Boys, Olney First XV)

18 Will Light - Enormous lad who could anchor the Bismark never mind the scrum, destroys rucks for fun as well as dangerous in loose. Will has the ability to play any side of the scrum.

19 Sammy Inman - Sammy is very unlucky not to be starting, however, to have a player of his skill level on the bench shows the depth in the Olney squad. Sammy has a beautiful pass off both hands, can also bang people for fun, he’s super fit and has an excellent rugby brain. (Bedford School)

20 Dylan French - Dylan is a gifted player that can cover most position across the backline, deceptively quick and elusive. Dylan is also super strong, loves a tackle and never shy's away from any physicality on the pitch. (Bedford Modern School, Olney AXV)

21 Owain Harries - Owain is deceptively fast and possess the balance of a leopard in full flight. His rugby brain is probably his most impressive asset. I can't actually remember a game that’s he's been involved in when he hasn’t made a huge impact in attack or defence. (Bedford School)

22 Rafe Willmer - Try, speed and footwork machine, covers the ground so well defensively and impresses with his leadership on the park. (Bedford Modern School, Olney First XV)

TR Cam Garvey - Cameron is very unlucky not to be starting, however, to have a player of his skill level on the bench shows the depth in the Olney squad. Cam is fast very fast, super fit and has an excellent rugby brain. (Moulton College, Scottish Exiles)

TR Donny MacManus (V-cpt) - Donny always has a smile on his face, but that smile hide as ruthlessness that will split you ear to ear. A modern gentleman that can play anywhere in the front row and even backrow. Donny is a thoroughly excellent player who glues a lot of our play together in open play and in set plays.

TR Kurt Ledsom - Kurt has recently made his full first team debut playing a super impressive Lutterworth side, during this game he didn't look out of place at all. Kurt is quick and super strong, loves a tackle and never shy's away from any physicality on the pitch. (Bedford Modern School, Olney First XV)
