Last 16 tie for Olney RFC Colts in the National U18s Cup

This Sunday the Colts team travel to Cheltenham to play Old Pats in their last 16 tie of the National U18s Cup.

So far in the competition the Colts have managed some hard-fought victories against Kettering, Ampthill & Chinnor. However, they’re under no illusions that Old Pats will be their toughest test to date. Head Coach Chris Day is very much looking forward to it. He said:

“The lads have been playing well this season, put in some good performances, and shown some great spirit.
For a lot of the boys at this age group, this is the biggest competition they play in. It is a great opportunity to play teams outside of the East Midlands and see how we compete. We will take each game as it comes, but I will back our lads to play their game and perform well against any opposition.
Above everything else I hope the lads enjoy the occasion and we put on an entertaining show for the travelling parents & supporters.”

The Club has a good record in the Cup - in 2016/17 the U17 (young colts) reached the semi-finals (losing to York) and in 2017/18 the Colts reached the quarter finals (losing to Chinnor)

The Colts are very much looking forward to their first away day together on a coach & would like to say thanks to the club for their support.
