...give rugby a try

The Red Roses’ World Cup victory was an inspiring moment for the entire rugby community. But, it's more than just a sporting achievement — For girls, seeing these amazing women lift the trophy at the highest level proves that rugby is not just for boys—it’s a sport where they can thrive too! and it’s the perfect time for Olney Rugby Club to encourage more young girls to give rugby a try.

Whilst we can’t promise crowds of 80,000 will watch you, we can promise you a positive and welcoming environment. At Olney, rugby is about much more than the scoreboard. Through tag and touch rugby, girls can develop key skills while learning teamwork, respect, resilience, and confidence. It’s about having fun, making new friends, and developing those skills that will last a lifetime. Whether running with the ball, passing, or cheering on teammates, every player is part of the family.

By encouraging girls to pick up a rugby ball today, we not only celebrate the Red Roses’ victory but also help grow the next generation of players who could one day follow in their footsteps as they progress through mini's rugby, Girl's Junior Rugby into the Ladies game. You never know, you could emulate the achievements of two Club Alumni, Georgia Brock and Eva Ladyman, who have both represented England this year!
