Sunday saw the Colts head to Gloucester for the National Colts Cup Quarter-Final.
“It was an incredible performance, wining away from home in tough conditions against a strong, aggressive and unbeaten Longlevens side was no small feat. The lads really dug deep to come out on top with a mix of heart, strength and rugby skills on show.” Said Head Coach Chris Denoven
“A special mention has to go to Jack Leach who put in a monumental shift. Having a player like Jack step up in those tough conditions really made all the difference – he was deservedly Man of the Match.
The belief the lads had in themselves, and the team really shone through in this massive game. You have proven you can handle the pressure of a quarter final in front of a partisan home crowd. But now we must do it all again when we take on Whitchurch RFC in Shropshire on the 30th of March. They must not be taken lightly as any side who has knocked out a Stockport RFC side must be strong – so out prep for this game begins right now.
I have to also give credit to all the lads who travelled on the coach & travelling fans who gave us unwavering support and the noise from the side-lines to give the lads the extra boost.”
The team will now head to Shropshire on Sunday 30th March to face Whitchurch RFC in the semi-final – there will be supporters coach and seats on the coach can be purchased on the club website ( click here) for £25 each
