On World Food Day, Monday 16th October, MK Foodbank will attempt a world record – “the longest continuous line of cans of food” with an ambitious target of 132,000 cans or 10km of food cans around Campbell Park!
This fun event has a serious side – those 132,000 cans will equate to 50% of the need for the Foodbank in the coming year. Demand for emergency food parcels has increased by nearly 50% in the first half of this year with more than 13,500 parcels having been distributed
How Can you help ?
The Club have adopted a 350 can section of the world record attempt and this is where you come in...if you are able, we would appreciate any donations of cans. In particular:
Cans can be left in a donation box in the members bar
If every member were to provide one can, we would smash the 350 can target easily!
If you would like to be part of this world record attempt, we would appreciate some help on the day - contact publicity@olneyrfc.co.uk
There will be a major public celebration from 12:30 onwards with the public invited to “walk the line” and enjoy a range of entertainments on the way, collect your Brioche Pasquier limited edition goody bag and visit the many businesses helping with our World Record! In addition there will be live Music on the stage, MKFM hosting, Mascot Races and Food and Drink Stalls!
