Another great effort from the Olney Ladies raft team who once again headed out on the Great Ouse to compete in the Raft Race as part of the annual Olney Riverfest.

Setting sail near to the back of the order the pirate ship made a slow start in the shallows under the 1st bridge before speeding up as the water deepened. Due to some distractions the raft behind quickly caught up but was slowed down by the pirates attacking with water balloons and water cannons. Unfortunately the overtake couldn't be prevented and despite a great chase the ladies were left on their own on the river.

Nearing the end of the race the pirates came across a raft in bits. In very unpiratelike behaviour they offered to rescue the boys in the water but after the offer was declined they instead sailed past to round the last corner.

The team were in fine voice as they sang the raft home in just over 40 minutes.
