Olney U11's 2009 - 2010 Season
Welcome back to all the children and parents alike for the start of the new season and to anyone new looking at the web site.
Training is well under way and we are up to 30 registered kids for the squad.
Training as always starts at 10.30 till 12 noon.
Your coaching team for this year:
Mark Lay
Mark Duke
Dave Combes
Chris Parnham
Administration - Debbie Warn
We have a lot to live up to from last year as Mobbs Winners. Main changes this year we are that we are moving to 12-a-side from 9. Please ensure that all boot studs are up to standard and gum shields still fit. Please also ensure that the kids have suitable clothing to keep them dry and warm. They can use the showers in the clubhouse afterwards, just bring a towel and shower gel.
If at any time during the season you wish to speak to me or any of the other coaches please do so either on the Sunday after training, or call me on the numbers above. We have found in the past that, unfortunately, emails do have a habit or being misunderstood, but if this is your preferred method of contact please do so.
REGISTRATION
Offical registration for this year happened in Sept 09. If you are new please print off the 2009-2010 season registration document and RFU card form together with 2 passport photos and hand into Debbie Warn.
NEW PLAYERS
Anyone new wishing to join us are more than welcome. Please call Lloyd Warn before you come along and he can advise where we will be as we may have deviated from the fixtures schedule published.
FIXTURES
Please check out the fixture lists on the main Mini and Junior page. All Fixtures are friendly matches and we are not in a league, so all squad members will receive an equal amount of time on the pitches for these games.
HOUSEKEEPING
All information regarding the team / fixtures / squads / will be sent via email. If a game if called off due to weather this does not usually happen until 8.30am on the morning of the fixture. Please therefore always check your emails before you leave and ensure that a mobile number that you will have with you is on your registration form.
TOURNAMENTS
Squad sizes for tournaments are always restricted by numbers and we will be picking the strongest team to attend at these. I will try an ensure that the remainder of the squad has either training or a match lined up for them to attend instead.
The annual Northampton Saints Tournament on Saturday February 13th (morning kick off) at Franklins Gardens followed by the game against Newcastle afterwards, is open to all squad members and they do not restrict the numbers so anyone available is welcome to play.
TOUR
Tour is again being organised for the first bank holiday weekend in May 2010. This year to Brean Sands. All details have now been emailed out to registered parents. £25 deposits are due to Debbie Warn (payable to ORFC) by 18th Oct 2009 at the latest.
BACON ROLL STAND DUTY
Once again your services as top catering professionals will be called upon for maning the BBQ. We have a new "Catering" BBQ this year. Dates for the U11's are:
Thank you to all those that helped out on our first go this year in Sept. I will be asking people who did not help out this time to do the next session.
20th December 2009
28th February 2010
RFU REGISTRATION
Anyone new to the squad will need an RFU card. Please download from the main Mini and Junior Page, fill out and hand to Debbie Warn with 2 Passport Photos. You will not be able to play without one, so please do not delay.
