COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
All the coaches in the Under 9's have done their Level 1 RFU coaching course and completed a Child Protection Course. In addition Simon and Steve are also Level 2 qualified referees. As a consequence we feel that we can offer the highest levels of support and player development and we aim to operate at all times within the Coaches Code of Conduct.
PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
1. PLAY FOR ENJOYMENT - and because you want to, not just to please your parents or your coach.
2. PLAY BY THE LAWS OF THE GAME - Play hard but fair!
3. NEVER ARGUE WITH THE REFEREE - Control your temper at all times!
4. NEVER GIVE UP - the game's not lost until it's won.
5. BE A GOOD SPORT - Recognize good rugby - even when it comes from the opposition.
6. IMPROVE YOUR SKILL & FITNESS - You'll play better - and feel better.
7.NEVER SHOW OFF - EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE SCORED!
8. WIN WITH MODESTY
9. LOSE WITH DIGNITY
PARENTS & SPECTATORS CODE OF CONDUCT
1.NEVER FORCE A CHILD TO PLAY RUGBY.
2. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT CHILDREN SHOULD PLAY RUGBY PRIMARILY FOR THEIR ENJOYMENT.
3. ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO PLAY BY THE LAWS/RULES. Make it clear that cheating is just a way to get an unfair advantage by dodging the rules.
4. ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO IMPROVE their skills by regular training and practice and listening to their coaches.
5. NEVER YELL AT A PLAYER for making a mistake. Never sneer or use sarcasm - it makes a player feel a total failure. Remember they are not playing for your benefit & are trying their best!
6. APPLAUD GOOD PLAY - by either team. Back up the referee - don't publicly question his fairness. Children learn best by example, so please set a good example.
7. STAY OFF THE PITCH. Only referees and coaches are qualified to be there.
8. DON'T ABUSE anyone, especially the referee. Like the coaches he is an unpaid volunteer and is giving up his spare time to let the children have their game. If you abuse him he may not return, and how could your children play without a referee?
9. PROMOTE AND RESPECT the Club's Child Protection Policy and the Duty of Care Statement.
