St Neots
Last week at Bedford was the most random day, with both sides in finals, this is real testament to how the lads in the Raiders, particulary, have come on and how quickly the newer lads are slotting in!

But today the Raiders went to St Neots in their own right and proceeded to knock out two wins in a row from the off. Now that's "Class".
The "skinny" (light on number) team soaked up much of the punishment the other teams could muster and the marginal defeat in game three was a shocker, as much of this game was played deep in their opponents territory applying copious amounts of pressure.

By game four, a few knocks and a loss later, the guys were now tired, and could have done with more fresh legs on the subs becnh to choose from, but they found the strength to hold the opposing side and suffered another marginal loss whcih could have so easily been a victory.

The final score was 2 wins/2 losses gining them a very respectible runners up place, 1 hospitalised, Cal "Jacko" Jackson, who played fantastic rugby and got home several hours late, but fit and with a "cracking shiner" for a trophy. amongst the other casualies were Joe "Bon-Bon" Bonaserra who ahd a mild concussion and is also now receovered and Alex Combes who took an elbow in the face, but brushed it off and played on.

Joe "Gingi" Sawyer needs a special mention for his meritous sportsmanship in helping out "Our Newest Best Mates" from High Wycombe.

Well Done, Everyone!

Bedford Junior Blues Festival - Both teams make finals....................

The Raiders were quite composed about their first game and made a sterling effort to contain their arch, Viking, protagonists to a 28-0 victory. During subsequent pool games, the Vikings added to their wins, with max bonus points for wins, score gap and maintained a perfect record for zero points scored against. The Raiders worked tirelessly through the pool games and showed real grit in fierce competition from the best other clubs could throw at them. Their effort was rewarded with a deserved tie, which secured their place in the plate final. The Vikings moved, with ease, onto the day final, by-passing the semi-stage through mutual consent, only to concede the days only points in a defeat a the hands of the Host team.

This was a fantastic display of exhibition quality Rugby, which entertained everyone watching. Both teams acquitted themselves admirably, upholding the team edict “dignity and grace” to the last.

                                                                                          DIGNITY AND GRACE!
