The first fund raising night to be arranged is the 16th of October. The Poker Night, so if you want to go on tour start by volunteering, help needed asap.
Basic Details
Location: Argentina
Date: 22/04/11 to 31/04/11
Cost: £810.00
Estimated Player Contribution £250.00
Tour Organiser: Dean Henrickson deanhenrickson@mjroofing.com
Tourists: Max. 35
Funding Arrangement
Eligibility: They must have paid their club membership
Each person will be required to pay £50.00 per month by standing order on the 1st of each month into the Tour Account starting on 01/11/09 and finishing on 01/04/11. At quarterly points the fundraising will be reviewed and people will receive money back for any money allocated to them as part of the tour fundraising. Alternatively they may choose to leave that money in the pot to claim at a later date as spending money for the tour or to cover their overall player contribution.
So for example, by 05/02/10 Joe Bloggs will have made 4 payments of £50.00 equating to £200.00. However, by that period we have had a poker night which raised £1100, a quiz which raised £800.00,Scratchcards which have raised £300.00 and a New Years Eve party which has raised £2,100.00 Overall funds raised are £4,300.00.
Joe Bloggs had nothing to do with the Poker Night so get £0.00 allocated, he was one of 10 people involved on the quiz so gets allocated £80.00, he is one of 30 tourists so gets 1/30th of the scratchcard money £10.00 and he was one of 21 people involved with the New Year’s Eve Party so gets £100.00 allocated. Overall Joe is allocated a total of £190.00 allocated against his fundraising. Joe can then either leave it in to either cover spending money or cancel some of his standing order payments.
Note: Allocation of tour fundraising is at the sole discretion of the Tour Organiser. Once you have started to pay deposits and raise money, this money is non-refundable to the extent that any monies raised will be left in the tour fund, and any monies paid by yourself will only be refundable in the event that you find a replacement willing to cover your costs.
Overall however a non-refundable aspect of any monies raised must apply once the flights are actually booked.
The Advantages;
This negates the need for people to pay deposits in large lump sums.
It removes freeloaders, ultimately those who raise money get a cheap tour, the others simply have to pay for it.
Fundraising Proposals
Auction of Promises: As usual this will take place in March/April of 2011 with 50% going to the club and 50% going to the tour. IT is imperative if we are to maintain this arrangement that as with previous years, the tourists supply the vast majority of the items.
Weekly “Football Lottery” Cards: To be left behind the bar and sold on a Thursday after training as well as on Saturday after the. £10.00 of the card value will go to the winner, with the remaining £20.00 going to the club tour. It is imperative that whoever takes responsibility for this ensures that somebody else does it if they are not available.
Membership Donations: Write to all the club members, present and past and ask them to sponsor the tour. This may be angled at raising money specifically for the younger players (under 20) who will find it hardest of all to raise money.
Large Corporate Sponsorship/Employers: Write to companies in the surrounding area, explaining that we are going on tour to South Africa and will be carrying out rugby training at township schools in the region presenting balls and equipment to the school. We are looking for sponsorship as follows;
Ball: £50.00
Olney Polo Tour Shirt: £250.00 (Arm/Chest/Collar)
Player Liaison: To ask players who have joined the tour if they have their own businesses to contact their suppliers for sponsorship.
Bavarian Night: This is always a successful night.
St Patricks Day Evening: This should be at least as successful as the Bavarian Night. There will be a need to book a band early.
Beer Festival in the summer: A potential cash cow from people outside of the club.
New Year’s Eve: Always a good money earner, and this tour will benefit from having two of them.
Poker Night: We have all the kit now so it should be pure profit.
Quiz Night: Need to have at least four before the tour. Click here to return to the Latest News page |
