"if we don't all do our bit then it falls to others and impacts on our wonderful club"

Little did I know what I was taking on, the immediate extremely grateful replies from David Wright others, did get me wondering what on earth I'd got myself into, surely it was just a few burgers and a pack or two of bacon I told myself!
- KJ Allen

KJ (short for Katy-Jane if you were wondering) took on the role of purchasing all of the supplies for the Mini & Junior BBQ this season. If you think of the numbers of children and parents at the club for mini and junior rugby each Sunday morning, you will realise what a huge job this has been for KJ!

Her efficiency and organisation has been brilliant and her value to the success of the club, and the mini and junior sections in particular, should not be understated. She is a much valued club volunteer.

"I'm going to be honest," says KJ, pictured with her youngest son Stanley. "When I received an email from my youngest son's age group in September titled 'Urgent! Volunteer needed!' I read briefly, far too hastily pressed reply, and willingly offered to buy some food for the BBQ each week...Little did I know what I was taking on, the immediate extremely grateful replies from David Wright others, did get me wondering what on earth I'd got myself into, surely it was just a few burgers and a pack or two of bacon I told myself!"

"Andy, my predecessor, did a fabulous job of filling me in on everything and then it was up to me to sink or swim! After a few scary weeks I settled into my Friday morning job of purchasing all the food and provisions for Sunday;s mini and junior rugby."

So why KJ get involved?
"I volunteered, and will continue to do so, because I know that the club is run by volunteers and if we don't all do our bit then it falls to others and impacts on our wonderful club, where my two sons love playing rugby each and every week! And they love the hotdogs and curries that their mum buys too!!’

Thank you KJ for your hard work and support for Olney RFC!
