Mannie Howkins stands down

On behalf of all the members of Olney RFC I'd like to thank Mannie for everything he has done for the club whilst President.
- Paul James, Chairman

Olney RFC President, Mannie Howkins, will be standing down from his position after 16 years in the role.

Mannie has overseen big changes at Olney during his tenure, and has always supported every section of the club.

Chairman of Olney RFC Paul James paid tribute to Mannie's dedication, saying:
"Mannie became President in 2001 - the same year that his son Stuart became 1st team captain . He has been 1st team captain as well as captaining other sides throughout the club . He was one of the instrumental people involved in getting our current clubhouse built which was opened in 1988 . He has also been Chairman of the social club, continues to attend all our current committee meetings and follows the 1st 15 in almost all of their home and away fixtures. On behalf of all the members of Olney RFC I'd like to thank Mannie for everything he has done for the club whilst President."
