Olney RFC U18 player Fraser Strachan got the call up for the national Scottish rugby side, playing for the team in the recent 5 Nations tournament against England, Wales and Ireland.
Fraser started his playing career at the age of 5 for Luton RFC. Most of his youth rugby was played at Luton before moving to Olney RFC at the age of 14 where he played inside centre for the unbeaten U14 and U15 squads and was selected for the England Midlands U16 team. In January this year Fraser played for Olney in the East Midlands Final when the team beat Ampthill. Due to his international cap, under RFU rules Fraser can't play in any of the National Cup competition, in which Olney's youth side has progressed to the semi-final stage.
Fraser has played within the Northampton Saints academy since he was 13, and was part of the Bedford school team that went un-defeated this season and lifted the National Schools Cup.
