Huge raffle and special kit for huge club event

I'm pleased to be involved with raising money for the MK Hospital breast cancer unit, as they are currently treating my Nan. Hopefully our big day will raise money and awareness about this awful disease.
- Jim Osborn, club captain

Olney RFC is putting on a special day to raise awareness and funds for a local breast cancer charity. The Milton Keynes Hospital Breast Cancer clinic is currently treating friends and family of those involved in the club so a big fundraising drive is taking place, culminating at the Ladies Lunch event on Saturday 8 December.

On the day, the first XV will be sporting a specially designed breast cancer kit thanks to our suppliers Sport Punk, with some of the shirts auctioned off after the game. The ladies attending the lunch are also being encouraged to wear pink outfits - so expect to see cerise, cerise and more cerise at Olney that day!

A huge raffle, generously supported by many local businesses, is expected to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity, and anyone can buy tickets (£5 for a book of five) from Karen Smith or Jim Osborn ahead of the big draw on 8 December.

Jim, club captain for Olney RFC, has a personal connection to the charity, as he explains;
"I'm pleased to be involved with raising money for the MK Hospital breast cancer unit, as they are currently treating my Nan. Hopefully our big day will raise money and awareness about this awful disease."

Also organising the fundraiser is Ali Howkins, who says: "Having had friends fighting breast cancer, and seeing the affect it has on them and their family and friends, I wanted to get involved with supporting this great cause. It's so important to raise awareness of this disease and help local charities who support those affected."
