Olney U16s Fly Half, Jacob de Main, was selected to help put right the defeat the team encountered at Franklins Gardens last season against Wasps. In temperatures in excess of 25 degrees Saints began the half camped in their own 22 having been dominated by Wasps physicality up-front which resulted in conceding a quick try within the first 2 minutes.

From the restart Saints then applied their own pressure matching Wasps and working hard at the break-down. This established some front-foot ball and excellent running lines along with some creativity in the backline and they started making progress. Unfortunately, due to missed tackles and ill-discipline around the fringes it wasn’t Saints afternoon and they end up on the losing side once again.
