Olney 7s on Saturday 3rd July
Olney Rugby Club is proud of its thriving and successful Mini and Junior section, with over 320 registered players. The section has been running for 36 years and during this time, many players have emerged as 1st Team players. Indeed, 10 of the current regular Senior 1st Team squad played for Olney at mini and junior level and others going on to play for Bedford or the Saints Academy.
All coaches and other helpers for the mini and junior section are volunteers. The club operates to the RFU guidelines in maintaining a ratio of at least 1 coach/volunteer for every 10 players for U7-16 and 1 to 8 for U6s. To achieve this, the club has assisted them with obtaining as a minimum RFU Level 1 coaching standard. In addition, they have achieved CRB checks, so all players are in good hands.
Policies and Procedures
Registration for 2010 - 2011 Season
Registration will be held on Friday 24th September 2010 from 6.30 - 9pm in the clubhouse. Anyone unable to attend must hand in their registrations as soon as possible to their age group adminisrators.
Registration subs will be £50 per player to include 2 £10 adult social memberships
Where only one parent requires social membership then £40 per player.
All additonal players in the same family pay £30.
Existing players will be given a pre populated form to amend and sign on registration night.
All new registrations must be accompanied by 2 x passport photos and proof of age.
New Players
We always welcome new players and most age groups currently have a few spaces. Where an age goups has reached capacity and we can't start a new player immediately, their name iwll be added to a waiting list. In all instances, please contact hte relevant age group by using the links below. A new player can play for a 2 week free taster, but it is essential that the player must be registered prior to playing or training on hte third week.

Playing Strip and Kit
Olney has an almost unique playing strip (Cerise & French Grey Hoops) which can only be purchased via the club. All players who represent the club are asked to comply with the playing colours. The price of the kit is heavily subsidised through both sponsorship and the fundraising activities in the club.
This will be available to purchase on registration night, and on Sunday mornings throughout the season via Val Wells.

Fixtures, Tournaments, Tours and Trips.
The club has a well balanced season and participates in fixtures and tournaments for all age groups throught the season - these are shown on the fixtures list (see links below).
Additionally most age groups have an end of season tour - a highlight for players and parents alike.
Northampton Saints Cashback and pre match Tournaments
Olney is part of the Northampton Saints Cashback scheme. This means that we receive between £3-£7 per ticket sold for the Mini & Junior Section. We receive a allocation of tickets for home matches, these are for premiership matches, Heineken Cup and Anglo Welsh. They also coincide with the U7-U16's Tournaments which are run by the Saints in the morning prior to matches. Winners and runners up get to go on the pitch at half time to receive their awards.
