mystery team

Dear Keith - I came across your photo "a mystery year" and it brought back many happy memories of my association with Olney rugby club from the mid-60's to the mid 70's.  The team in the photo was called the Outlaws, comprising mainly younger players, and played ad hoc games over Xmas and Easter when the students, many ex Radcliffe School, were home for the holidays.  The year would have been around 1968-69.  The players I can remember are: back row - Dave Adams (as you mentioned), myself, Roger Cropp, Keith Endersby, not sure and not sure, Geoff Foster, then Jack Brimley, of course, and not sure. Middle row - not sure, Mick Mynard, not sure and not sure but maybe one was John (?) Bettridge?, Ian Taylorson and Geoff Soul.  Front row - not sure and Keith Brimley.

Ian Taylorson was best man at my wedding to Janet Bunker, who won the Pancake Race a couple of times (her mum had the sweet shop at 2 High Street, now a bank).  I played with Nigel Swallow at the end of his playing days (and lots of tennis afterwards with him and Mary etc), left the area for a while and then played until a shoulder injury in the mid-70's - Mick Mynard, Martin Wilkinson, Bryan Byrne etc were playing around that time, great fun.

Very happily settled now in NZ, the home of rugby; keeping fit with squash and tennis.  I do get back to the area every couple of years or so.  My best wishes to all at the club.

Regards
Andy Godfrey

What ever happened to the chap on the left?

Must have been a few years ago Frank's still got some hair and John Adams isn't grey.

Had to find some of Muller.

Young Bogey Driver's cheek on the right and I think Basher trying to persuade the driver to stop at the next pub!
